Today I am going to share with you some photos from the final inning of a 4-3 seventh inning comeback by the St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons over Pope John Paul high school. St. Thomas began the seventh inning trailing Pope John Paul 3-2, and the Falcons comeback began with their first batter of the inning David Bouderie reached first base after getting hit by a pitch. Getting hit by a pitch is common but the reflexes of Bouderie probably prevented a disaster as you can see below the ball is reflected off his hand and appeared to be on a path that would have hit him in the face that could have potentially been a serious injury.
Pinch hitter David Cox connects with the ball for a single to right field, he would be replaced by base runner Corey Roubique.
Below pinch runner Corey Roubique looks for instructions, he would advance to third base on a base hit by Ross Pellichino and would reach home on a base hit by Jacob Trapani that would tie the game at 3-3.
Ross Pellichino would score the game winning run on base hit by senior Brandon Loria, Pellichino is show below heading to third base and then celebrating with teammate Matthew Carona at home plate after scoring as the Falcons defeated PJP 4-3.
