Well it’s about time to tip off for the 2010-2011 New Orleans Hornets, NBA season, the Hornets have infused some new blood into the squad and if they can remain healthy they should once again challenge for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Recently the Hornets held their annual “Media Day” at the New Orleans Arena and here are a few of the shots I took during the evening.
Chris Paul returning to the Hornets was the main focus of the evening, and from what I heard from him during his media day interviews he is happy with what the team has done and he wants to remain in town, that is good news for all the fans in the Crescent City, below are a few portraits of Paul

As I said earlier Chris Paul was the center of attention as seen in this photo of reporters interviewing Paul during Media Day.

Chris Paul will be working with a new general manager in Dell Demps and a new head coach in Monty Williams, below he posed with the new men in charge.

Chris Paul may be the focal point of the team, but it was the trade that brought Trevor Ariza in from the Houston Rockets that got Paul’s attention that the front office was intent on improving the team. Ariza is an athletic shooter and strong defensive player, he is expected to step in as a starter at small forward allowing for Peja Stojakovic to provide a burst of points off the bench, Ariza is also capable of playing shooting guard putting Stojakovic and himself on the court at the same time.

Key players returning to the lineup in 2010 are, Marcus Thornton, Emeka Okafor, David West and Peja Stojakovic, new to the team are Marco Belinelli, Quincy Pondexter, Pops Mensah-Bonsu, Willie Green and Jason Smith among others competing for roster spots.
Don’t let Marco Belinelli’s portrait below fool you, he may not look dangerous in that photo, but he’s got a devastating three point shot.

The New Orleans take back to action on October 9, 2010 for a preseason game against the Memphis Grizzlies, that will be game three of a four game sports weekend that starts tonight.

I hope you enjoyed the photos, until next time.
